A taste of what to expect…

Day 1: Transfer from Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Your safari begins with a warm welcome at Entebbe International Airport or your hotel. After meeting your driver-guide, you will start your scenic journey toward southwestern Uganda. The drive offers stunning countryside views, rolling hills, and rich farmlands. A major highlight along the way is the Equator stopover, where you can take photos at the iconic 0° latitude marker and enjoy a brief demonstration of the northern and southern hemisphere water flow.

Lunch is served en route, and your guide will make additional stopovers for photography, viewpoints, and optional local interactions. By late afternoon, you arrive at the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its dense forests and remarkable biodiversity.

Accommodation: Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi & Optional Community Experience

After an early breakfast, you will transfer to the gorilla trekking briefing point. Park rangers will explain the rules and assign your trekking group based on fitness levels and gorilla family location. Make sure you are well prepared with sturdy hiking boots, long-sleeved clothing, a rain jacket, snacks, and enough drinking water.

The trek can take between two and eight hours depending on where the gorilla family is found. The journey leads you through thick foliage, ancient trees, and steep forested slopes. Along the trail, you may encounter forest elephants, duikers, and several primate species such as blue monkeys and black-and-white colobus monkeys, accompanied by the songs of numerous forest birds.

Once you locate the gorillas, you are rewarded with a full hour in their presence. Watching them feed, groom, play, or rest is an emotional and humbling experience—one that remains etched in memory forever.

After the trek, return to the lodge for relaxation. If time and energy allow, you may take part in a short community activity to meet local residents, learn about their traditions, and support conservation-driven initiatives.

Day 3: Transfer Back to Entebbe or Kigali

Enjoy breakfast before beginning your return journey to Entebbe. The drive offers another opportunity to appreciate Uganda’s countryside scenery. You will be dropped off either at Entebbe International Airport or at your hotel, depending on your travel arrangements.

For clients who prefer less road travel, there is also the option of taking a domestic flight between Entebbe and Kihihi Airstrip, which significantly reduces travel time. This itinerary can equally begin in Rwanda, crossing into Uganda for trekking and returning to Kigali or continuing to Entebbe. Let us know if you wish to adjust the routing to suit your schedule.

This marks the end of your safari, but the memories of your encounter with the mountain gorillas will last a lifetime.

Additional accommodation can be arranged at your request, and airport drop-off is fully included.
